Brings GIF Support From iOS 11 To iOS 10
Once of the shortcoming things of iOS platform is that the Photo apps cannot possibly show the animated GIFs as we have seen. Instead, when opening any image, it’s a still image, which is still a single frame of the animated GIF to view.
iOS users have requested animated GIF support since iOS 6 versions, but until iOS 11 released in the fall this year, Apple implements it. However, if you are intending to keep your jailbreak after the official rollout of iOS 11, there is a new free tweak, called GIFRoll that can help enable animated GIF support in the Photos app ahead of time on your iOS device.
Along with the popularity of animated GIF, the support for the stock photo-handling mechanism with an important feature is so necessary, especially those who usually save GIFs to your device in the future. After installing the GIFRoll tweak, you can view animated GIF images from any album in your Photos app, and they’ll then move around your eyes. The tweak will not affect anything on your the Photos app, so you can keep using it without having to worry any issue. There is not any option to configure, so once you install the tweak, you’re all set.
GIFRoll is not the first tweak to support the animated GIFs for the iOS platform. There was previously a tweak called GIFViewer coming with same task in 2014. However, the GIFRoll brings its own advantages. To account for its benefit, it is compatible with iOS 9 and 10 jailbrokendevices and especially free to download, while GIFViewer tweak is paid and doesn’t work with iOS 10 version.
So, if you’re fond of installing this useful tweak on your iPhone/ iPad, you can download it for free from Cydia’s ModMyi repository. Do you have other animated GIF tweaks for jailbroken iPhone / iPad? Share with us in the comments section below.
