How To Fix GBoard Not Working On Your iPhone/iPad

Gboard is the Google’s virtual keyboard app, allowing iOS users to send GIFs, swipe text, and do other actions that aren’t included in the default iPhone keyboard. So, in this post, we’ll show you how to set up Gboard and what you should do if the Gboard is not working on iPhone.

Set up Gboard on iPhone and iPad

Sometimes you face an issue that Gboard is not working on your iPhone. One of the reasons causes the issues is that you didn’t complete the set up yet, which might be a quite time-consuming process because of the several step requirement.

To set up Gboard on your iPhone, first launch the App Store, search for the Gboard app. After that, tap “Get” and “Install” next to Gboard to install the app.

After the installation, you need to add Gboard to the keyboard of your iPhone by heading to Settings –> General –> Keyboard –> Keyboards – Add New Keyboard

After selecting Add New Keyboard, you will see a list of third-party keyboards presenting to you. Simply choose Gboard to add it to your iDevice.

After tapping Gboard, activate the switch next to “Allow Full Access.” You then choose “Allow” when being prompted Allow Full Access for “Gboard” Keyboards. That time,  the setup process is complete.

How To Make Gboard Default Keyboard on iPhone

To make Gboard Default Keyboard on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards. After that, choose “Edit” at the upper right corner to rearrange of delete keyboards.

To set Gboard as default, simply tap on the three lines next to the Gboard screen, and then drag it towards the top of keyboards. Once you finish, tap “Done”. The change will take its effect after you close the app, so should not be too surprised if you still see the usual keyboard.
