Switch Between Apple Music Individual And Family Plans

Apple Music gives its users two different plans: an individual plan priced at $9.99 and a family plan with $14.99 price tag. The latter can support up to six Family Sharing accounts as well as devices connected on one account at the same time.

If you began using one plan but want to change to the other one, or want to use your own account instead of a Family sub-account, check out step-by-step constructions to do it.

Move from an individual Apple Music plan to a Family plan

First off, please notice that in your Family Sharing group, it is necessary for you to be the Family organizer. If you haven’t, simply access Settings > iCloud > Set Up Family Sharing to activate that process.

After completing, follow the below steps to switch your account.

Step 1: Launch the Music app on your iOS device.

Step 2: Tap For You.

Step 3: Tap the Account icon in the top right corner.

Step 4: Tap View Apple ID and type in your password if required.

Step 5: Tap Subscriptions.

Step 6: Tap Apple Music Membership.

Step 7: Switch your Apple Music subscription from an Individual plan to a Family one.

Move from the head of a Family plan to an Individual plan

Notice: When you change your plan, as the owner of household, it will delete access for all Family sharing users who are included in your plan. Their Apple Music data will be stored on Apple’s serves for a short time, but giving them permission to single register for an Individual plan along with bringing back their library and likes.

Step 1: Launch the Music app on your iOS device.

Step 2: Tap For You.

Step 3: Tap the Account icon in the top right corner.

Step 4: Tap View Apple ID and type in your password if required.

Step 5: Tap Subscriptions.

Step 6: Tap Apple Music Membership.

Step 7: Move your Apple Music subscription from a Family plan to an Individual plan.
