How to set up two-factor authentication for your Skype account

Two-factor authentication allows you to add an extra layer of protection to your Skype account. Without it, your login just includes user and password – the only security for your account. So, adding another layer of protection can make your account more secure. There are 3 methods for two-factor authentication in Skype account, including: email, phone number, and authenticator app. Now we’ll show you how to set up two-factor authentication for your Skype account.

How to link your Skype and Microsoft accounts

After Microsoft acquired Skype, two-factor authentication for Skype accounts linked to Microsoft was added. You have to link your Skype account to your Microsoft account to enable two-factor authentication.

Step 1: First off, you need to log in to your Skype account online.

Step 2: Next, you continue to click Account settings below your profile photo on the left side of the page.

Step 3: Now, you have to click Connect a Microsoft account.

Step 4: After that, you need to click Your info in the toolbar at the top of the page.

Step 5: Here, you continue to click Manage how you sign in to Microsoft.

Step 6: After that, click Next.

Step 7: Then, you need to click Next to confirm your email address or click Use to use another email address to change your email.
