How to Change the ‘Press Home to Unlock’ Lock Screen Text in iOS 10
With the release of iOS 10 version, there are many new things users have to adapt to. Many of your aren’t used to the new features and pages that Apple added to the lock screen after updating to the latest iOS 10 version.
The Widgets page contains tons of both useful and not useful information. Furthermore, the ‘Slide to Unlock’ text and camera shortcut are no longer in their previous place. So in this post, we want to help you change the custom text on the lock screen of your iOS 10, if you ever like changing the “Press Home to Unlock” text into a custom message. Here is how you can do it.
How to Edit “Lock Screen Text” in iOS 10
Before starting the process, your iOS device should be jailbroken and installed the Cydia first, you can refer this post to jailbreak your device. Once done, just follow these steps:
- Launch Cydia from your Home screen
- Reload the BigBoss repository so that it can update
- Search for a tweak, called Lockscreen Custom Text iOS10 and then Install it
- When done, respring your iPhone/ iPad
Once the tweak is successfully installed, just go to your Settings app and scroll down until you see the Lockscreen Custom Text iOS10 page. From there, you enable the tweak by toggling the switch to on. After that, type in a custom text that you want to display whenever you turn on lock screen of your iPhone.
If you want to remove the text from the lock screen, just put the Lockscreen Text: field empty. One thing you should note that the text you enter will only replace the default ‘Press Home To Unlock’ text. It will not change any feature behavior or work. There are many other tweaks like this for your lock screen, but all of them just works with your jailbroken iOS 10 devices.
