Apple has recently rolled out a new firmware update with version number 3.5.1 for AirPods. The update comes with quite a lot of performance improvements and bug fixes.

The latest firmware for the AirPods may include the solution to fix the issue causing the earphones to disconnect randomly with iPhone during phone callings. Here is how to update the AirPods to the latest version.

How to Update AirPods to the Latest Firmware

It’s very easy to update your AirPods to the latest firmware. First, ensure to keep your connected iOS device near the charging case. Then, just put your earbuds into the charging case. The AirPods will be updated instantly.

If you are unable to update your AirPods, remember to charge fully the case. Also, make ssure that they have been connected to your iOS device (go to Settings → Bluetooth). Sometime, resetting the charging case can help you fix the issue.

How to Check AirPods Firmware Version on iPhone and iPad

Once you have successfully updated your AirPods, you can quickly check out the firmware version running on the AirPods.

Step 1: Make sure that the AirPods are connected to your iOS device.

Step 2: Open Settings app from your iPhone’s home screen. Then, tap on General.

Step 3: Now, tap on About.

Step 4: Next up, scroll down and select AirPods.

Step 5: On the next screen, you can check out the Firmware Version of your AirPods. You can also find out the model number, serial number, and the hardware version of your earphones.
