How to fix App Store Not Working on iPhone or iPad

The App Store is an important part of an iOS device. We’re sure you cannot use a iPhone/iPad without app. But what would you do if you get up in the morning and realize that the App Store does not show anything, just a white screen and you can’t even update your favorite app. This particularly occurs when your App Store can’t connect to the Apple servers over your network connectivity. Here are solutions to fix the App Store not working properly on your device.

Reboot your device

Rebooting is the simplest way to fix some common issue including App Store. To do this, just press and hold down the Power button until you see the ‘Slide to Switch Off’ slider. Slide it to the right to power off. In case your iPhone gets frozen, press and hold down the Power and Home buttons (iPhone 7/7 Plus is the Power+ Volume Down key) until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

Sign out of your Apple ID then Sign in Again

If the App Store gets trouble while connecting your iPhone/ iPad with your Apple account, and then it shows a white screen, you should sign out your Apple ID account. Follow the given steps below to do this:

  • Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store and find your Apple ID.
  • Tap on it and choose ‘Sign Out’
  • Wait for a few minutes, then sign back in.

You should note that the App Store needs to be completely closed when you sign in again. Once signed in, open App Store and wait to load the content. If it still does not work, try the next methods.

Restart the Cellular Data

If you access App Store through mobile data, then you should restart the mobile data, especially when you are on the move as the IP address could frequently change and cause disrupted internet connection, which makes the App Store show a white screen. Disable the mobile data for a while, then turn it on again, and check if the issue has been resolved.

Reset Network Settings to Resolve the issue

The last resort you can try to fix the App Store not working issue is resetting network settings on your iPhone/ iPad. To do that, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. After that, reconnect to your favorite Wi-Fi network and try to reopen App Store.
