Know how to turn off Email Threads in iOS10
Email threads in the Mail app in iOS is a new feature that allows you to view all emails sent and received in the same subject line grouped together into one conversation.
Threaded view is a useful feature for preventing older emails in the same conversation from being lost. From then, you can view the whole a conversation in one place. When this feature is turned on, conversations will be leaded by a double right arrow button to the right of the day. Just tap on that button to see the emails in the conversation.
When you tap on any of the emails, not only does that email open, but you can also scroll up or down to easily access the other emails in the conversation.
Email threads feature is turn on by default in iOS 10, but you can turn it off if you’d rather not use this feature anymore. To do this, just follow the given steps:
- Launch the Settings app from your Home screen, then tap on Mail app
- Toggle the “Organize by Thread” slider button to Off. If you want to turn threaded view back on, tap the slider button again.
In Email threads, the latest messages in the conversation will be at the bottom. If you want to find recent messages easier, just turn on the “Most Recent Message on Top” option.
No matter is Email threads feature on or off, you can move messages from one conversation into different mailboxes. If you’ve turned on the “Complete Threads” slider button, you can still view all the messages from one conversation in one place in Email thread. Once the threaded view is off, the messages from the conversation will display as separate messages.
If you don’t want to use Email thread all the time, you can turn it off till you need to look through a conversation. When you turn it back on, all messages with the same subject line are grouped together into one conversation again, even they are from other mailboxes if you enable the Complete Threads option.
